What not to say to your wife *part 2

Remember when Joe told me he felt sorry for my face because pregnancy had been mean to it? Well there's more. I have to share with everyone because it makes me laugh to know that my husband is trying so hard to be nice while saying these awful things to me and really thinking that it's ok to say them.

-About 3 weeks ago on a Friday night we were talking with some friends about how excited we were to go swimming the next day for the first time this summer.

Joe-in a very concerned voice, "Now that your pregnant are you gonna float?"
Me- "are you calling me fat?"
*After everyone gave him a hard time about what he had just said he proceeds with
Joe-"What? Fat people float......."

-A couple of weeks ago we were getting ready to go to bed and I had asked Joe to help me up off the couch. He picked me up off the couch and said

Joe-"WHOA........THAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE".
Me-"I've only gained 6 pounds!!!!"
Joe- trying to cover up what he just said "your belly is just poking into mine"

I'm glad I have Joe to make me life through this pregnancy. I told him he's lucky he didn't marry someone who gets there feelings hurt easily . Instead I just laugh and tell everyone about it.

26 weeks and counting

So finally I got a camera charger and I told Joe we had to take pictures before I started receiving anymore hate comments about not blogging. So here they are and I threw in a cute pic of me and Joe just because it was probably the first time we got a good picture of us together in a long time.
Pregnancy is going good. My belly just popped out last week so I'm starting to get asked the usual questions. Joe and I are moved into our house and loving it. We are still doing updates here and there but we finished the big stuff this past weekend. I don't want to put pictures of until it's all done though. We ordered Liz's crib, which was supposed to come in yesterday but I called and they said it had been put on back order. I was annoyed but what do you do. I'm doing her nursery in elephants. It's gonna be pretty darn cute.

FINALLY! There's life

I am now 20 weeks as of last Friday. I'm very excited to know that I am half way done and in 4 months i'll be holding my ridiculous long armed baby girl. With her having such long arms you'd think, for sure she's felt the baby move by now. WRONG! As of last Saturday I STILL had not felt her move not even a flinch. I was really starting to wonder if I was just getting fatter for fun. Well FINALLY Saturday morning I was half way awake when I felt it. It was a little nudge right below my belly button. I thought, nah that couldn't be her until I felt it two more times. I was so excited and woke Joe up right away and he was able to put his hand on my stomach and she kicked/punched at him. I now feel her only when I'm laying down but when I am laying down she is going to town in there. This morning I was trying to sleep on my stomach and she was getting pissed and kept kicking/punching me. I thought it was too cute to change my position so I just stayed like that for awhile. I'm a mean mom I know.

Best Day Ever

Last Wednesday is the day we were set to close on our house. Joe and I both took off and could not have been more happy. We woke up all excited, nervous, and stressed. We started talking about finances and Joe was really starting to stress out about us not selling our truck that had been for sale since October. No lie, 30 minutes later a guy called wanting to check out the truck and he ended up buying it that day! We were so excited and then at 3 that afternoon we went to the title company waited for 2 hours almost didn't get to close on our house but after another 45 minutes of waiting we signed our lives away and are now official home owners.

We LOVE our house and have been working on it for almost a week now getting it all jazzed up for us to move in. My parents have been more then a big help to us and we could never repay them for all the hard work. We have painted almost every room in the house, including paneling that we had to prime twice, and the carpet and tile were laid down yesterday. It is coming together and I'm loving it more and more everytime I step foot in it. We hope to have everything done this weekend so that we can move in next week. So after next week if your ever in the neighborhood, you should definitely stop by and we'll be more then happy to give you a tour of our new home.

name

Sorry, I forgot to tell you in the last post that her name will be Liz Tribett. Yes just Liz. It won't be short for anything. I told my sister that if she's born on her birthday (9-14-09, my due date is 9-18-09) I'll name her Liz Aubrey Tribett. It doesn't really flow but I think it'd be cute so we'll see.......

It's a party

We had our party last night and everything turned out perfect. My doctor was awesome and ordered the cake (since she was the only one who knew what we were having) picked it up and even presented it to us at our party. It could not have gone any better. Thanks Dr. Johnson, your truly the best. We found out what we're having around 6:45. I was so nervous and could not stop shaking. When Dr. Johnson opened the cake I screamed. Melanie has a video of it that i'll have to post later. We had a blast and people were so kind to bring gifts and come and support us. I hope everyone had fun.
Finally I have pictures, your welcome Aubrey and Brad.

Dr. Johnson got me this shirt and I fell in love with it.
My very first gifts. I love them all!

Sleep or No Sleep?

For some reason my body thinks it's funny for me to wake up at 4 in the morning EVERY morning. The worst of it all is that i'm actually comfortable sleeping in my bed I just can't sleep. Poor Joe hasn't been getting much sleep either because I keep wake him up constantly because he has developed the habit of snoring and I don't deal with snoring very well and plus i'm bored.

So I've been completely exhausted by the time 10 am comes around and I have been non functional at work. I'm not a fan of caffeine or carbonation but it has saved my life. Since I can't have excedrin I figured I would turn to Dr. Pepper, well wouldn't you know all they have at work is pepsi products. I even checked two different vending machines until I finally settled with a diet pepsi, except they were out of order AFTER I put my money in so I just went with a regular pepsi. I don't even like pepsi infact, I hate it but it litterally saved my life today. So thanks Pepsi for helping me at work and I'm sure everyone at work is thanking you too.

So I know I never put pictures on here. I'm reminded on a everyday basis that I need pictures on my blog but just so you know I lost my camera charger in November and so haven't been able to. Joe is going to be scanning my ultrasound pictures for me so I can blog them.

Also, we find out Thursday what we're having. I'm so anxious. We're having a little party with close friends and family thursday to find out what we're having. My doctor already knows what we're having and she is ordering a cake for us and she'll show up with it on thursday and announce it to all of us, including Joe and I, with the cake what we're having. Only 2 more days! My doctor has known since last Wednesday so you know i'm dying here. I'll be sure to blog about the party as soon as possible. I guess I should go buy another charger for my camera.

What not to say to your wife

Joe is notorious for not saying the right thing but truly not meaning it the way that it comes out. Thankfully I know that the things that he's saying he's really not meaning rude. Well yesterday was one of those moments that really he should not have said ANYTHING! Thankfully I was in a good mood because I had slept all morning and I was feeling pretty good. He got home from work and we were sitting down eating our lunch. He was talking to me but while he was talking he was looking at my face with much concern. I knew what he was thinking and wanting to say but he was just staring. I was dying to hear what was about to come out of his mouth so I said "Why are you looking at me like that"? His response "I feel sorry for your face, pregnancy hasn't been very nice it". While laughing out loud I had to tell him how rude of a comment that was. His response "Well, what am I supposed to say"? With a stern response I had to tell him "NOTHING".

Updates

I haven't been much into the blogging mood lately. I think about it always but that's as far as it's gone. My sister won't quit bugging me to blog so Aubrey, here's to you.

We have had some pretty exciting things happen to us in the past month. Amy Routt told me about a house in there neighborhood that wasn't up for sale yet but knew that they would be selling it in the future. I called the owners and told them that we were interested in looking at it. They were kind of hesitant but said we could come that next day. Joe and I went over and fell in love with it immediately. It's an older home, built in the 70's and in the best condition we have ever seen. Just a little paint and new flooring and it will be as good as new. We drove by later that even to show my dad where it was and the owners were still there so we stopped for a second time and asked if it was ok for us to show my dad. We got my dad's approval so we knew we had to do something about it. Joe worked all week on getting our loan stuff submitted and a week and a half later we made an offer and they accepted. We will be closing April 30th and we could not be more excited. I don't have any pictures yet but as soon as I get them I will post, scouts honor.

I'm now 13 weeks and still going. It's been a rough journey but I think we're all making it. Joe and I were sick a whole week in February and that was nothing fun. I told Joe I would rather die then to ever feel like that again. I was the fortunate one that couldn't keep anything down and ended up in the hospital with an IV. Thanks to my AMAZING doctor, she got me right in and she even drugged me up with some phenegran. Let's just say, I forgot pretty much everything from that day I was so drugged up. Joe's birthday was that thursday that we were out sick. Poor guy had the worst birthday of his life but my dad made it special and picked him up an Old Chicago pizza and made him his favorite, white cake with chocolate icing. Thanks dad! My pregnancy sickness is off and on. I thought I was getting better but these last 5 days have kicked my butt. Somebody please tell me this is all worth it. My mom told me she was going to tape one of my ultrasound pictures on the back of the toilet so that everytime I throw up I'll remember what I'm doing all this for. I told her nope..... The perks of working at my job is I get to do an ultrasound every week. I wait till Friday when we're all done at work and then I go in and see my little baby. I love watching it move. This past Friday I watched it for awhile and I think it's gonna have my personality, save us! It kept hitting itself in the head and then at one point the umbilical cord was in it's way and it totally moved it out of it's way as if it was bothering it. Then it kept falling asleep on me so I would try and wake it up by shaking the probe on my belly and at one point it totally punched up at my belly as if it was telling me to leave it alone. Poor thing...

Today is my dad's birthday. We celebrated with a few gifts, dinner, and cake. You know the same ole same ole except for the fact when we went to light the candles on the cake we couldn't find our matches so we were tearing the kitchen apart until we found ONE match. We tried striking it on the grout on the tile and other things and it would work so my dad seriously opened the closet to the furnace and lit the match with the pilot light. Talk about desperate! I suggested for them to just call the greens and get a match but NO!

For his birthday we're sending him to a St. Louis Cardinals game sometime this year. We told him he could choose which game. I'm excited for him go. Joe will have the pleasure of taking him and he's already planning on all the food he'll be eating. I told him we may have to take a loan just so he can eat at the game. Joe loves to eat! lol.

Tutu's for Tuesday

I came across a blog about a month ago where I was introduced to a sweet 2 year old named Tuesday that was sent home to die because her cancer had taken over and chemo was no longer going to help. She died 2 or 3 days later. I was so upset that I wanted to share her story with others. I told a girl at work, Becca, about it where she continued to follow the blog as well. She came attached to this little girl and her family without ever meeting them and is now donating her time and money to make Tutu's for Tuesday where $5 of the proceeds will go towards research. I tell you this so that you might help with the donations and plus you'll get a way cute Tutu out of it for any little girl you might know that loves to dress up.
You can order them through this www.TutusForTuesday.etsy.com

If you would like to read about Tuesday http://www.half12.blogspot.com/ (beware, you'll need a box of tissues)

I do everything my older sister does

1. I wish I could go to lunch with my sisters at least once a week
2. I'm really in the mood for warm weather and a beach
3. I'm addicted to blogging
4. My bed and toilet are my best friend right now
5. I hate school and I know I should go back
6. I only finished a term in college, that's not even a whole semester. Does that even count?
7. I met Joe when I was 15
8. I can't explain things to people to save my life
9. My hands sweat really bad, especially when I'm nervous or think about putting lotion on during the summer
10. I love wearing sanuk's (it's a shoe/sandal)
11. I love going shopping with other people for them. There's nothing more fun then spending other peoples money.
12. I love buying people presents and want a BIG reaction out of them when I give it to them. I will literally ask at the least 15 times if they like what I got them if they didn't give me a good enough reaction
13. Sad thing is i'm bad at giving reactions when people give me things.
14. I had a paper route from the age 9 to 15.
15. I was grounded for a month(from literally everything! tv, friends, music, etc...) for not getting home in time for my paper route so to get back at my dad I would play tennis by myself in the garage and hit the inside wall to the living room so my dad would hear it and get on his nerves. Little did I know, my dad can't hear and it didn't bother him one bit.
16. I don't like hugs and the only hugs I give are to my sister to bother her and course Joe.
17. I love that my husband is a pilot and is going to fly big planes some day.
18. I love having family around, I wish we all lived closer.
19. I love being a part of a big family.
20. I think there's nothing cuter then to have my 4 year old niece call me and have a 20 min. conversation about life. She is the smartest little girl I have ever met.
21. I'm not a fan of Obama and I wished McCain would have won.
22. I wish I had something sweet to eat right at this moment.
23. There's nothing more exciting to me then to see my sisters face when I give her all of my clothes I don't want.
24. My dad is my hero.
25. I can say I ran a marathon with my dad and finished at the exact same time with my dad.

Wow!

So mom made dinner tonight.........it was really good but my mom had to go so far to get a "wow" factor out of Joe and I. I walked up to the table and looked around and in a glass container was something yellow with shredded something in it. I just looked, and then I looked again until my mom said "it's jello with shredded apples". I honestly thought it was too much butter with shredded hashbrowns floating in melting butter. So then my mom explained to Joe and I how when she was a kid they invented jello recipes and she was trying to be creative tonight, yes she was born and raised in Utah, can you tell? We just went along with it until my mom went as far as to tell us that when she was a kid they would put cheese in their jello. I had to tell her that was not normal and then the next thing I knew my mom was throwing shredded cheese on her lemon/shredded apple jello. Let me tell you, she definately got the "wow" factor out of us! I told her I was blogging about it right then and I got up and here I am. So while as I was logging in to post my entry my mom says "I guess it was carrots instead of cheese". I rest my case mom. Thanks for the good laugh.

What is that smell?

For days now every time we open the fridge we swear something has died in it! We have all smelled it except for mom, which is weird because she usually has the strongest smelling nose. Anyway, I've pretty much stopped opening the fridge or I would prepare myself by holding my breath, grab what I need, shut the door, and RUN! Well, GOOD NEWS! My mom just found the problem. I was sitting here reading blogs when I heard her say "I think I may have found the dead smell in the fridge, I think it's the brocolli." She asked me to smell but I told her to take it to Joe instead. So she walked back to the office to ask Joe and I was sitting her all nice and cuddled up on the couch I smelt it! Yes, that's how bad it is! All she had to do is walk walk by me. Seconds later I heard Joe saying "uh! That's it!" Needless to say, my mom decided not to cook the brocolli (thanks heavens) and the dead smell is gone. Yea! Mom saves the day!

sad but true

On Tuesday on my flight home I had to fly from Vegas to Atlanta, yes I am aware how long of a flight it was, to be exact it was a 4 hour flight. I was dreading it but I knew I had a good book, sudoku, and much needed sleep that would occupy my time. When I got on the plane I was glad to see that it was leather instead of the nasty disgusting clothe seats that I had on my way out and then I was happy that I had a window seat. I sat down all situated and comfortable and waited to see if I was going to be crammed in my seat with someone next to me. Lucky only one person sat down and he was on the isle so there was a seat in between.

Now here's the sad part, the guy sitting next to me was middle eastern. I know I shouldn't judge and I know it's bad to judge but that day I was judging. So we got in the air, I got my book out and was reading. All the while I was watching this man next to me in the corner of my eye. He seemed nervous about something and I think that's why I was freaking myself out. I really thought I was going to die that day. He kept shaking his legs really fast and kept leaning foward and then back and then forward and then back, then he kept grabbing for things in the seat infront of him. Mind you, this was a 4 hour flight so he was probably just bored, but I thought otherwise. I was really trying not to pay much attention to him but I couldn't help but notice him.

At one point he reached down into his backpack, which I was watching very intently, and he pulled out a little notebook and started writing in it. At this point I really thought it was over for me. I thought he was writing his last goodbyes and then we were all in for it. After he got done writing he got up and started walking to the front. You guys this is how retarded I am, I actually sat up in my seat and leaned over to watch him and see if he was "actually" going to the bathroom or if he was going to the cockpit to take over. Not only were my hands sweating from reading my intense book but they were sweating even more watching this man and thinking I was going to die.

Luckly he just went to the bathroom and came back and sat down and then started shaking his leg again and then writing in his book. I was relieved that nothing happened when he sat down but then I started thinking that maybe he put a bomb in the bathroom and it was only a matter of minutes before the plane blew up. So here I am thinking of all these scenarios when all the while this guy was probably just bored from being on the flight and nervous to see who was meeting him at the airport. He finally fell asleep and I finally told myself that I was being rude for judging him and proceeded with my book.

As you can see we safely landed with no highjacking or bombing and I lived through my 4 hour flight. I'll be more careful and maybe more discreet next time I'm on the plane with someone suspicious.

Fun Trip

I realized it had been like 5 weeks since I blogged last so I figured I would write about my trip to St. George. I left last Tuesday and flew out to to Julia's to decorate the babies room and to celebrate Brooklyn's birthday. I had tons of fun! I painted the babies room blue and then did a green and tan border around the room and then in only 4 of the squares I did my first art project that I was pretty dang proud of. I didn't have my camera with me but you can check out the pictures from Brooklyn's birthday and the babies room on julia's blog www.thejandnboonefamily.blogspot.com .

While I was there Julia was put on bedrest so I got to play with the girls a lot. Courtney was able to get to know me better and Brooklyn as always was so stinking cute! Monday I wanted to get a few things done while I was there so I took Brooklyn out with me shopping and I got to spoil her with whatever she wanted. Her new favorite thing is Mac and Cheese, which I thought I liked until I made it for them and then I wondered how I ever liked that stuff. Well when we went shopping it was past lunch time and so I promised her something to eat and I realized that target had a little restuarant there and I saw that she could get a mac and cheese happy meal. I opened it and almost vommitted it was the nastiest looking mac and cheese I had ever seen but she absolutely loved it and then we got home and she obviously didn't have enough and asked for more so we made her another batch. I'm telling you that girl can eat some mac and cheese.

I left on Tuesday and was sad to go. Thanks Jules and Nathan for letting me come out! Secretly I was wanting Julia to have her baby while I was there so I could see him before I left but I know it's better for the baby and Julia that he didn't. She's 33 and 6 today which is the furthest she's ever gone so we're praying for 2 more weeks!

update

I thought I would update everyone on our offer on the condo. We put in an offer Tuesday night over the phone and he said he would get back to us Wednesday morning. Well Wednesday morning passed and so did Wednesday night and we never heard anything! I must remind you that this is a for sale by owner and I'm not sure this owner is wanting to sell his house. Well finally this morning at around 11 he called Joe and counter offered ours. Again might I add, I don't think this guy wants to sell his house. Well we didn't like his offer and counter offered back. Take that seller! Anyway, we were hoping to hear from him tonight but I knew that would be wishful thinking so it'll either be tomorrow unless he decides to keep going in his own time frame and make us wait until Monday to find out. Regardless we'll let you know either way as soon as we find out.

The update on our Apartment is we had another smoker move in last weekend I guess since that's when the smell started over again. This time it's 10 times stronger and it was litterally filling our home with it and Joe and I both had massive headaches to the point that we had to leave our home. I expressed my feelings to Joe about the situation and Monday he called the apartment complex to complain. They apologized and offer to lend up an air purifier. I appreciated them trying but seriously I pay WAY too much to have to either sit in my house with my sweatshirt over my nose (which I ended up doing all day Sunday) or even have an air purifier in my home. She then nicely added that the air purifier would help drown out the noise. Really? Well today I got home from work and there was a note that was dropped off to us and everyone else reminding them to keep the noise level down (as I lay in here in bed listening to my neighbor next door watch her old timey christmas movie) and to not smoke excessively in the hallways. I had to laugh out loud because they really are trying to help us out and I know the letter was written because of our complaints. Oh well, hopefully it'll all be over with soon.

Lastly the update on Joe's schooling is that he is just finishing up with his last test. He had a VERY important, let me say that again, he had a VERY important test that he had to take that was actually due today. Funny how things like that work out right? Well he didn't get it done and I can't completely blame it all on him but if his proffessor doesn't let him extend the time then instead of Joe graduating in May like we hoped it probably won't be until next December. Let's just say if that is the case there will not be a very happy wife in this house. He is working hard to get all of his work done and so far is making really good grades. I married me a smarty. Somebody has to have brains in this family.

We did it!

So it took us a week and a half but we finally made an offer tonight and we'll find out tmoorrow morning whether or not there going to except it. Wish us luck on our first place!

Joe's my Hero!

Ok so we just got done showing our apartment to a couple and I don't think there all that interested but they asked about above noise and we couldn't help ourself but to just say "it's normal apartment living noise.....". What do you expect I have to get outta of here. Well after they left our above neighbors decided to watch a movie FULL BLAST! It was so loud that we could identify the movie to be star wars. I finally jumped up about after 30 minutes of listening and told Joe to get me out of here. As I was waiting for Joe to get ready I decided to check my e-mail and my blog of course to see if there was anything new happening. All the while I kept hearing someone pounding on something and then realized it was joe with a paint extender stick in his hand hitting the ceiling. I couldn't help but laugh but had to tell him to quit after about 50 hits. So then I went about my business only to hear another awful pounding and then I heard "can you turn down your movie"? Joe had gone out on our balcony and was hitting there medal balcony with the same stick as before. HAHAHAHA! I love my husband. They were polite and finally turned it down. Afterwards he wished he would have said "and can you take your heels off while your at it?" It was funny and I had to blog about it before we went out. Happy Friday everyone!

I shouldn't, but I'm too excited

Joe and I have decided that renting isn't the thing for us. We have ABSOLUTELY loved living in Little Rock! We have loved the location, our ward, and just being close to all the cool stores and living the city life all together. The drive really hasn't been bad and I can say with much pride that I have not ONCE complained or infact said anything about my drive. But, and yes there is always a but, we HATE apartment living! haha! Neither one of us have ever had to live in an apartment besides our 3 months in college which we don't even remember anymore. I will admit our apartment is sweet but the noises aren't. Since it's an old place there's no insulation so we hear EVERYTHING! When I say everything I mean, construction workers, walkers, drivers, movies, late night events....., blow dryers, our neighbors above us water running through there pipes, high heels that are constantly going back and forth back and forth, and our neighbor above us using the bathroom. So yes, it pretty much comes down to the people above us drive us insane!

So how did this all came about? Well, we have just been looking at other apartments around Little Rock until Monday I was at work and a co-worker was talking about a house she saw for sale and wanted me to check it out so I told her to pull up the site for me and I'd look. It was way cute but way out of our price range but then I started looking at the sight and found this and instantly called on it and arranged to see it that night. We loved it and I have been bugging Joe about it all week! I'm definately having bitter sweet feelings about the whole situation but I think Joe and I have come to a conclusion. We are going to be putting an offer on a condo in Conway that we have absolutely fallen in love with. No I don't want to move back to Conway but yes we would like to own our own place. We hope all goes well and if not that's fine too we'll just find another awesome place. Thankfully we only signed a 6 month lease which ends the end of February but that's just not soon enough for me so we asked and were told we could sell out the rest of our lease. So off we went to putting an add in the paper and lo and behold we have someone coming tomorrow to check it out. I just pray he doesn't hear all the noises and if he does I hope they don't bother him as much. Even though Joe and I are young we have figured out that we're a bunch of old married hags. Anyway, we're excited and I know I shouldn't really post this until we know for sure we're getting it but i'm too excited and I want everyone to see what we MIGHT be moving into. Wish us luck!

Here's the site to check out the place
