what's that, I'm dizzy?
So for the past couple of months I have been getting really dizzy at random times and then in the past couple of weeks I've been going through spurts of almost passing out and extreme dizziness. I finally went to the doctor about it because I was starting to get concerned. He told me that we was going to treat me with antivert which is for vertigo. Incase your wonder what the heck vertigo is here's the definition: Vertigo is a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is stationary with respect to the earth or surroundings. There are two types of vertigo: subjective and objective. Subjective vertigo is when a person feels a false sensation of movement. Objective vertigo is when the surroundings will appear to move past a person's field of vision. So here I was all happy because I had a diagnosis and an excuse for almost passing out on a regular day basis. I went and got my prescription filled and when I got home I was reading the directions and noticed the "may cause drowsiness" tag on the side. My ever so lovely roommate said that was normal and that most prescriptions said that. So we figured out that if I were to take up to the 4 that it recommended and I would take one when I woke up, at lunch, when I got home from work, and before I went to bed. So what did I do I took one right then to start me off. I went throughout the night fine I was still dizzy but I was getting used it and then I took another pill at 10 right before I went to bed. After I took it I thought it was strange that I suddenly felt really tired. Well, I woke up this morning barely. Barely being the keyword in that sentence. I got ready and never could quite get my eyes to open completely. Well the retard that I am drove to work and when I got there I knew that I had done a dumb thing by even showing up. I continued out my morning feeling as if I had taken 10 benadryl's and then told I couldn't sleep. At lunch I thought it would have been better for me not to drive anywhere and go sleep in one of the beds at work and so that's what I did. I woke up at 1:00 to finish out the rest of my day feeling a tiny bit better but still dizzy and groggy. I came home as soon as it turned 5 and thought to myself "why did I even go to work". It just goes to show you how dedicated I am to my job. haha. Anyway, here I am still tired, groggy, dizzy, and feeling like I'm going to fall at any given minute. So if you want to give me a hard time about anything I'm simply going to say "I have vertigo, leave me alone"

Interesting
I learned something today, I know it's hard to believe but I did. I learned that people really have a hard time to quit smoking. You might say to yourself "duh" but I saw it first hand today. A girl that I work with and I were getting back from lunch and we were driving around like crazy people with everyone else trying to find a parking spot because for some reason every tuesday it takes FOREVER to find a parking spot, but that's beside the point, while we were looking we saw this man in his gown hooked up to his IV walking off the hospital premises to smoke. I was dying laughing, as I know most of you are surprised by, until my friend told me that he was going out to smoke. I just thought it was pathetic and sad that someone is that hardcore that they are willing to go out in the freezing cold in there gown and an IV hooked up to them just to smoke. Did he think that that was maybe why he was in the hospital in the first place? Thank goodness I don't have to worry about that.
P.S. don't worry, I made sure that I wouldn't be breaking HIPPA regulations before I posted this
Me and my miter saw
About 3 weeks ago Joe and I went to sears to wander around because we really didn't have anything better to do. I asked if he wouldn't mind going and looking at the miter saws, of course he didn't want me to look more manly then him so he said sure. I was so excited when I was searching for one and I was even more excited when I looked down at the prices and realized that they were all on sale. I seriously went back and forth for like an hour comparing all the different ones but I always went back to my craftsman that did beveled cuts and had a laser light ew.......AWESOME. Anyway, I ended up buying "the one" and I was so excited. Well last night Joe was kind enough to set it up for me and I got to use it for one of my projects. It was pretty much awesome. I forgot to mention that it came with safety goggles! You know your a dork when you get excited about safety glasses, red ones at that. So I'm pretty much excited about my new toy and I can't wait to cut more wood not myself.

Dr. J and I are going to Oprah
One of the Dr.'s I work for was introduced to the blog world about a month ago and she's kind of the one that got me started. So she came up with the idea to try and get Oprah to do a show about blogging. I thought she was kidding when she told me she was going to write her about it but she wasn't. She stayed up the other night writing her and giving her ideas about what to do the show about and what gifts she could give as prizes and everything. So she came into the office yesterday telling me what she did and she told me that if Oprah called I could go with her onto the show. So all day yesterday every time her phone rang or if she left her phone somewhere she would say "Oprah's calling me I need my phone"

Thank goodness for spell check
What would this world be like if we didn't have spell check? Because, I just realized after 21 years that I am not that great of a speller. Every time I have gone to post a blog more then once I have had to right click on the red underlined word to see how you REALLY spell it instead of just trying to do my best of my own spelling. So thank goodness for spell check.
Joe's 26
Today Joe turned 26.
We celebrated by going to dinner at a new restaurant in town called Michaelangelo's and then we came home and had cake and ice cream with My parents and Adam.
When it came time to open presents Joe was very surprised. I didn't have time or anything big enough to wrap his present so I had him close his eyes and I put a blanket over it. When he took the blanket off he wasn't sure what it was until finally he figured out it was his first very one classical guitar. His reaction didn't show much excitement but he told me that was because he was so shocked. Happy Birthday Joe, Love you!

21st century has arrived for my parents
Today I found out that my parents have been officially introduce to the 21st century. You may ask "what did they do"? Well, let me tell you......My parents have gotten a debit card and yes I said a debit card. I know it's huge. For the past 6 or so years or however long they've been out my parents have been writing check after check after check. I was so proud of them I just wanted to jump up and down. So if you are to ever see them you can congratulate them on being introduced to the 21st century.
For Sale
About 2 years ago I came up with the idea to do a word search as wall art. My very first one didn't turn out the greatest but the concept was there. After about 6 months of looking at the hideous thing I decided to make it pretty and that's what I did. My brothers gave me the idea to start selling them and so that's what I've started doing.
Super Sock Slider Club
After a long day and night yesterday we decided we wanted to see who's socks would slide the best and furthest and our concrete floors. so at 1:00 in the morning we get our socks on and begin our races. Joe started first and did ok, then Melanie charged down the hall and slid so far that she almost ran into the wall. Her and Joe went back and forth and each time Melanie would win. Finally we gave the reward to Melanie for her dedication and bravery. You'll see why when you watch the movie. When Joe realized that Melanie's socks were alot better then his he decided to show his cool moves by running, sliding, and turning. Me on the other hand just slid down the hall once and realized right off that my socks were not good enough to be in the super sock slider club. I'll have to work on it.

Valentines day
Joe and I never have been much into celebrating Valentines Day. In the past we just went to quizno's and ate and then watched a movie at home or went bowling. This year Joe was in charge so I woke up that morning went into the bathroom to begin my day with the usual routine and on the counter there was a note that Joe had written for me.
It made me laugh because of the corniness but it was cute. Anyway, I got home from work and he had bought me flowers and made
me steak and mashed potatoes. We ate dinner and then he told me had a surprise for me. He pulled out a custom made cake he had ordered. It was a 2 tier chocolate heart shaped cake with strawberries on top. We tore into it and it was so good. Even though I don't care for the holiday It was a very nice and relaxing V-day.
Ahoy Matey
For 4 months now I have been needing Joe to put a Peep hole in for me so I don't have to yell "who is it" every time someone comes to the door. So today was the day, so I thought. Instead Joe took the peep hole out of the package and was walking around with it up to his eye first saying "this must be what fish see like" and then he thought he was a pirate and was making pirate noises. I'm glad I have married someone who makes me laugh.
Bored
On Fridays we only work till about 2 or 3 and then we get the rest of the day off. Yesterday I was able to take off at noon and get some things done that I was needing to get done. Melanie on the other hand didn't get home until 3. When she got home we were laying on the couches and I was thinking about rearranging my house while she was thinking about putting rollers in her hair. After about 15 minutes of sitting there she got up and started putting rollers in her hair to see if her hair was long enough. When she was done w
e got the bright idea to see what my long luxurious hair would look like in
roller
s. When we took mine out we couldn't stop laughing because my hair isn't really long and luxurious. Well we figured since I looked so funny we would put makeup on me just to enhance my hair and beauty. Here are some before and after pictures. Needless to say her hair and makeup turned out a whole lot better then mine. I think she planned it that way.
The funniest part of it all when Joe got home I told him I was ready to go out and he was like "oh, ok, I like your hair.......that's alot of makeup but it's pretty". He didn't figure out that it was a joke until we told him.

The "Ripstick"
Over Christmas break our nephew showed us his new "ripstick". When you first hear "ripstick" you probably think "what the heck is that"? Well it's the new skate board that swivels back and forth. It looks ridiculously hard but once you get used to it it's actually easier then the regular ones. Anyway, when Joe saw it he just had to have one and that is literally all he talked about for 2 weeks. So one Saturday I was pretty much sick of hearing about how he had to have this "ripstick" so we went to Target and bought one and came home and tried it out. We did ok for our first time but now that Joe has taken it to work with him and practices during his lunch break I officially call him a pro. Me on the other hand am still getting used to it but I can do it and that's all that matters.
