4 month stats

(Long post just about Liz. If your not interested in reading I posted pictures to look at. And don't forget to read about our Christmas in the previous post)

Weight-15 lbs 10 ounces (90th)
Height-25 (75th)

I can't believe it's already time for 4 month stats. Our child is growing like a weed and I beg her everyday to please stay small forever and not get bigger but that is no longer the case. We took her to the doctor on Tuesday and she was healthy and happy until they stuck her with shots. She cried of course but was just fine the rest of the day. The doctor told us we could start her on solids whenever we wanted. I've been so excited to feed her solids so I had already bought everything and we came straight home and fed her her first round of rice cereal. The doctor said that a lot of kids don't like it at first and you have to keep introducing it to them. Well our beast of a child took one bite and then grabbed the spoon trying to get more.

The week before we had gone and got her a high chair so she could eat dinner with us and get used to being in a high chair. We'd been putting her in her bumbo on the kitchen table with us but she started trying to get out so we thought we better go ahead and get the high chair. She loves it and now thinks she's too big to lay down for any reason anymore. It's nice to have while I'm getting things done in kitchen I just put her in that with a few toys and we're good to go.

She's still sleeping through the night, which the pediatrician was really surprised about. I told her she'd been doing it since 2 months old. She informed me that was not normal for breast fed babies.

I'm still pumping but it's going MUCH better now that I can pump for only 10 min. instead of 20. I get excited every time I finish now and go on and on about how 10 min. is SO much easier then 20 min.

Just for journalling reasons I wanted to list all the things she's been doing.
-She laughs a ridiculous amount which we love. Her happiest time is in the morning and after we get out of church.
-She's sitting up really well with just a little support
-She wants to suck on EVERYTHING
-We finally found a binky that she likes. Yes it took us 4 months but hey we have one now.
-She loves loves loves her jumparoo Aunt Katie let us borrow.
-She lovs watching her baby einstein videos
-She's starting to splash more and more in the tub and still continues to love her baths.
-She is in mostly 6-9 month clothes
-We finally took out her newborn inserts about a month ago and so she enjoys her car seat so much more. We needed a manual on when to take those out. I thought she was comfortable but no.
-She loves to grab her toes especially while your changing her
-She can talk and talk and talk. I love listening to her cute little voice
-She has rolled over from front to back twice now. One I only saw her as she was just hitting her back and the other she waited till I walked out the front door to go somewhere.

We Love our little girl and can't get enough of her. I'm glad I'm able to spend almost every moment with her. Do I go a little crazy sometimes? Yes, but over all she is a perfect baby.

First time sitting in my high chair while everyone ate. It was my moms birthday so we made her birthday breakfast

Joe was fitting her straps after assembling it. She doesn't look too excited about it, but she's still cute.

Christmas

Christmas was perfect this year, small, relaxing, and all around fun. It was lots of first for us for Christmas. First Christmas for Liz, First Christmas in our new house, First Christmas with a fireplace to hang our stockings (that was a HUGE deal to me). Derek was able to be here this year to help celebrate our firsts along with my parents. They all came over Christmas morning to open presents and eat breakfast. Joe did a great job getting breakfast all ready for us and it tasted so yummy. After breakfast Joe, Derek, mom, and myself headed to little rock to watch blind side. We got there and was informed the movie was sold out, boo. We tried a few other theaters with no luck so we headed back home for dinner. We did something different for Christmas this year, we usually do a buffet and eat all day but this year we had homemade roast pot pie. I know your probably thinking GROSS! Trust me I was saying the same thing when I first heard about it until I had my parents. Oh my gosh I crave it EVERYDAY now.
After dinner Joe and I headed over to his side of the family and hung out with them while playing rock band. It was definitely a good Christmas with many more to come.

2 month stats

Yesterday was Liz's 2 month appt. I had been dreading it for awhile because of her shots but she did great! My brother Ryan was in from out of town and went with me so I had some moral support. I was expecting her to be fussy all day but she was just as happy as ever. Here are her stats

Weight- 14 lbs 6.5 ounces (95th %)
(she went from 65th to 95th, I laughed)

Height- 23.5 (60th)

She's getting SO big and more and more fun to play with. Joe has found her ticklish spots and is constantly tickling her. She obviously loves her food and loves to sleep. For the past 3 weeks or so she's been sleeping through the night which i'm just now getting used to. I'm still pumping 24 7, because of my raynauds, and continue to feel like a cow. Joe said we need to get a sign that says "welcome to tribett dairy farm", I found it fitting. We love our baby girl and just cannot get enough of her squishy cheeks.

thanksgiving and Liz's Blessing

This past week we celebrated thanksgiving at my parents house with the majority of my siblings. We had a blast! We definitely ate WAY too much, stayed up WAY too late, and didn't sleep hardly at all. I love getting together with my family and I hate saying goodbye. We all hope that we lived closer. Since most everyone was here I waited to do Liz's Blessing. We did it the Sunday after Thanksgiving and it was perfect! She was able to wear my same blessing dress and she looked absolutely adorable in it. When I put it on her and picked her up to hold her she wouldn't stop smiling. It was such a cheesy smile too that said "I'm pretty and I know it". We appreciate everyone that could be there and we can't wait to see everyone again.

Selective Hearing

I'm sure most of you deal with your husbands having selective hearing. If not, bless you. Today I was talking to Joe maybe 3 feet away. It was later in the day and it our conversation went something like this.

me-I know I haven't showered yet today but I still feel like I've gotten a lot done around the house.

Joe- I don't know how they did it. None of them showered so I guess they were just used to it.

me- what are you talking about?

Joe- The Indians, I don't know what they did about showers.

Even though I was extremely frustrated that he wasn't listening I couldn't help but laugh my head off. He was completely off.

I did and I love it

Most of you have already seen me but for those of you that haven't I went with the fohawk with my last haircut. It took me about a week to get used to but now I am finally liking it. Don't worry I can wear it down too.

Halloween '09

This was Liz's first Halloween but I felt like 7 weeks old was too young to dress up and take around so we just had cute little outfits for her. Friday we went to our church's fall festival and had a potluck. Joe dressed up as an Angels fan and Liz as a pumpkin. Saturday we went to my parents for the tradition of chili, chips, and cheese with apple juice. (which by the way is TEARING Liz's stomach apart. One too many blow outs for us. She was named right because she must have Aunt Aubrey's stomach) We then watched the world series with Dad, me, and mom rooting for Yankees and Joe for the Phillies. I think it ended up being a pretty good first Halloween for Liz.

Should I do it?

For ever now I have wanted to do a fohawk but I didn't feel that it was professional while I was working so now that I am no longer working I am seriously considering it. Also, the last time I went in to get my hair cut out of the blue my hairstylist mentioned that I should do a fohawk so I feel like it's kind of meant to be. I want your input so let me know if you think I should do it or not. These are the best pictures of could find of one that I wanted to do.

1 month stats

Weight - 65% (9 lbs 13 1/2 ounces)

Height - 60 % (21 1/2 inches)

Head - 70% (15 inches)

She had her 1 month check up yesterday and we were much happier with our new pediatrician. Liz loved her and didn't cry at all. She did get one of her shots and she did really well. She gave me a cute little pouty cry afterwards.

I'm posting a video mainly for my sisters to see because I can't e-mail them. You can act interested if you want but it's long and kind of boring.

She is very patriotic. We taught her how to say the pledge too
First Sunday to church. I thought she looked pretty cute/irritated that we put her in a dress
Baby girl loves her mamma's milk
Life is rough around here. We eat and sleep
First attempt in the bumbo. She did really well.
